MICR toner is a type of toner specifically designed to print magnetic characters that can be read by machines, primarily used to secure and automate the processing of checks in the banking sector.

Automated recognition: This technology is mainly used in the banking sector for printing checks and other valuable documents. MICR characters, typically the account number, bank routing number, and check number, are printed at the bottom of the document. These characters can then be read quickly and accurately by high-speed check sorting and processing machines.

Security: The use of MICR toner also contributes to security. Magnetic ink is more difficult to falsify or reproduce with standard photocopiers, which helps prevent check fraud.

Industry standards: MICR printing must comply with strict standards established by organizations such as the American Bankers Association (ABA) to ensure readability and compatibility with bank processing equipment. Specific character fonts, such as E-13B, are used for MICR printing in North America.
