HP Solution Center is a Windows software for HP printers. It came with many HP printers manufactured before 2011. It allows you to perform many printer-related tasks, such as scanning an image, ordering supplies, checking ink levels, and more. Moreover. Is Solution Center installed on my computer?

When you install the full printing software on your Windows computer, either from the printer CD or from the HP website, HP Solution Center installs automatically and should be available. Use one of the following methods to check and open Solution Center.

  • Click the Solution Center icon on the desktop to open the software. Depending on your version, the icon may be black or blue.
  • Find your printer in Windows: If the icon is not on the desktop, look for the model name of your printer in Windows, and then click your printer in the results list to open Solution Center.
  • If you can not find Solution Center, download and install the driver for all the features of your printer on your computer.
  • If HP Printer Assistant opens, you have a printer output after 2010 that no longer supports Solution Center. Printer Assistant has replaced Solution Center and offers printer settings and similar management features.

 

How to download Solution Center?

There is no software download link for HP Solution Center because it is part of the complete software solution for your printer. Install HP Solution Center with the full Windows software from the HP website.

Note: HP Solution Center is not available for Mac computers. The Mac printer driver installs HP Utility, which has similar tools and features.

  • Turn on the printer.
  • If your printer is connected to the computer with a USB cable, disconnect the cable from the printer. The software installation prompts you to connect the cable if necessary.
  • Click HP Customer Support. Software and driver downloads.
  • If a startup page appears, click Printer, type your printer model number, and then click Submit.
  • The results page of your printer software is displayed with the default operating system selected.
  • If you need to change the operating system, click Change, select your version, and then click Edit.
  • Under Driver, click Download.
  • During installation, select the typical or recommended installation type when prompted by the software installer.

 

What happens if I can not find or use Solution Center after upgrading Windows?

After upgrading from Windows to a newer version, such as Windows 8 or 10, Solution Center is missing or an error is displayed when you try to open the software.

Note: After completing the Windows Upgrade, be sure to restart your printer and your computer at least once before attempting to print or scan.
